Ibiza Events August 2026 — Sunset Solar Eclipse, Sant Bartomeu Fireworks & Peak Season at Full Blast

August 2026 is Ibiza at its absolute peak — and this year the island gets something no lineup budget can buy: a solar eclipse at sunset on August 12. From Ibiza, the moon will cover around 96% of the sun right as it drops toward the horizon — a crescent sun sinking into the sea. And the west-facing San Antonio bay points exactly the right way. 🌘🌅

But the eclipse is just the headline. August delivers the Festes de la Terra fireworks spectacular over the port on the night of August 8 (free and genuinely jaw-dropping), the rowdy Sant Bartomeu fiestas in San Antonio with a Carthaginians-vs-Romans tomato battle and midnight bay fireworks, Tiësto and Armin van Buuren sharing Mondays at [UNVRS], and every residency from June and July still running at full tilt — Calvin Harris twice a week, Swedish House Mafia, Carl Cox, RESISTANCE, elrow, Solomun, the lot.

Tiësto & Armin van Buuren share Mondays at [UNVRS] — from August 3

The Monday night rotation at [UNVRS] shifts in August: Tiësto takes over the slot from John Summit starting August 3, and Armin van Buuren brings A State of Trance to select Mondays through the month. Between the two of them, every August Monday in the 10,000-capacity Dome belongs to a Dutch legend — Tiësto blending his trance roots with modern house, Armin going full ASOT euphoria. Check the listing for your specific Monday before buying, because the two split the dates.

For those counting, August Mondays now offer three heavyweight options: Tiësto or ASOT at [UNVRS] (nighttime, ~€60), David Guetta at Ushuaïa (open-air from 5pm, ~€110), and Circoloco at DC-10 (afternoon into night, ~€50). Three different worlds, three different crowds, one night.

📅 When: Mondays, August 3 – August 31, 2026 (Tiësto and A State of Trance split the five Mondays — check each date’s listing)

🎆 Festes de la Terra — August 5 & August 8 (FREE)

Festes de la Terra — August 5 & August 8 (FREE)

The Festes de la Terra started in late July, but August is when they peak — and the peak is spectacular. Two dates you need to mark in permanent ink:

August 5 — Santa Maria de les Neus

The patron saint of Ibiza (Our Lady of the Snows). The day begins with a solemn mass at the Cathedral of Santa Maria in Dalt Vila, followed by a procession through the old town. Traditional ball pagès dancing (Ibiza’s folk dance, performed in elaborate traditional costumes) takes place in public squares. Free concerts run in Parc Reina Sofía near the harbour, and communal meals are shared in the streets of the old quarter. It’s a window into the Ibiza that existed for centuries before the first DJ arrived. Completely free.

August 8 — Sant Ciriac + Midnight Fireworks

This is the one. Sant Ciriac commemorates the Catalan conquest of Ibiza in 1235 — the event that shaped the island’s modern identity. The day features traditional cart parades through the old town, costumed processions, and celebrations that build through the evening. But the main event happens at midnight on the night of August 8: the Castell de Focs (Castle of Fire) — a professionally choreographed fireworks display launched from the harbour that illuminates the entire port, the walls of Dalt Vila, and the waterfront for 20–30 minutes.

Locals will tell you the Sant Ciriac fireworks are the most impressive visual spectacle of the year — and they’re comparing them to the club productions at Ushuaïa and [UNVRS]. This is genuinely world-class pyrotechnics, reflected in the harbour water, framed by medieval walls, and witnessed by thousands of people lining the port. And it’s completely free. 🎇

📅 When: August 5 (all day) + August 8 (all day, fireworks at midnight going into the 9th)

📍 Where: Ibiza Town — Cathedral, Dalt Vila, harbour, Parc Reina Sofía

🎵 Type: Traditional / Cultural / Fireworks

🎟️ Tickets: FREE — all events open to everyone

📌 Status: ✅ Confirmed — HIGH (annual tradition)

💡 Tip for Aug 8 fireworks: The best viewing spots are along the harbour wall near Pacha, from the rooftop bars in La Marina, or from a boat in the harbour. Arrive by 10pm to secure your spot — the port fills up fast. Bring a picnic and a bottle of cava. After the fireworks, the streets stay alive until dawn.

😈 Mau P: Baddest Behaviour at Pacha — Wednesdays from August 5

Mau P: Baddest Behaviour at Pacha — Wednesdays from August 5

The Wednesday rotation at Pacha shifts in August: Mau P takes over from Blond:ish with his “Baddest Behaviour” concept. The Dutch producer behind “Drugs From Amsterdam” brings a harder, peak-time tech-house energy that’s perfectly suited to Pacha’s main room at 3am. If Blond:ish Wednesdays were the eclectic, spiritual option, Mau P Wednesdays are the raw, bass-heavy, no-prisoners option. Tickets from ~€40–€60.

📅 When: Wednesdays from August 5, 2026

📍 Where: Pacha, Talamanca

🎵 Type: Tech-house / Bass House

🎟️ Tickets: From ~€40–€60 | ticketsibiza.com

📌 Status: ✅ Confirmed

🌘 Solar Eclipse at Sunset — August 12

Solar Eclipse at Sunset — August 12

Let’s get the facts straight, because a lot of posts are overhyping this one. On August 12, 2026 a total solar eclipse crosses Iceland and northern mainland Spain. Ibiza sits just outside the path of totality — so no, the sky won’t go fully dark over the island. What you get instead is arguably more photogenic: a deep partial eclipse, with roughly 96% of the sun covered — happening at sunset.

The timeline (approximate, local time): the moon starts biting into the sun around 19:35, maximum eclipse hits about 20:33 with the sun hanging low over the western horizon, and the sun sets while still partially eclipsed just before 21:00. Translation: the sunset itself is the eclipse. A thin crescent of sun sinking into the Mediterranean. Nobody alive has seen that from Ibiza before.

Where to watch: west-facing coast wins, and that means San Antonio. The sunset strip — Café del Mar, Café Mambo, S’Arenal beach — points exactly the right way, and it’s a 5-minute walk from Cisne by Nest. Expect the strip to be rammed; claim your patch of sand early. For a ticketed option, WooMooN’s 10th-anniversary Eclipse Special at Cova Santa is the headline party built around the moment, and most beach clubs and rooftops island-wide are planning eclipse events.

And here’s the kicker: August 12 is a Wednesday, which means once the sun is gone you can walk straight into Boris Brejcha at RESISTANCE, Amnesia — one of his only two Ibiza dates in 2026. Eclipsed sunset, then high-tech minimal until 6am. That’s the single best day of the month. 🌘🎛️

📅 When: Wednesday, August 12, 2026 — partial phase ~19:35 to sunset (~20:57), maximum ~20:33

📍 Where: Visible island-wide — best from any west-facing beach; San Antonio bay is prime

🎵 Type: Astronomical Event + island-wide viewing parties

🎟️ Tickets: The eclipse is free from any beach. Venue-specific events are ticketed.

📌 Status: ✅ Confirmed (astronomy) — deep partial from Ibiza; totality only on mainland northern Spain

💡 Safety tip: Because Ibiza gets a partial eclipse, there is NO safe moment to look at the sun with the naked eye — not even at maximum. You need ISO 12312-2 certified eclipse glasses the entire time. Regular sunglasses are NOT safe. Buy them before you fly — they will sell out on the island. 🕶️

🎉 Fiestas de Sant Bartomeu — ~August 24 (FREE)

Fiestas de Sant Bartomeu — ~August 24 (FREE)

San Antonio’s biggest traditional celebration — and it’s wild in the best possible way. The Fiestas de Sant Bartomeu honour San Antonio’s patron saint with several days of events around August 24 that blend tradition, chaos, and genuine community joy. Recent editions have featured:

Carthaginians vs. Romans reenactment: A theatrical battle between costumed “armies” that ends in a tomato fight. Yes, like La Tomatina but Ibicenco. Wear clothes you’re happy to sacrifice. The spectacle is absurd and brilliant.

Free waterfront concerts and street parties: from hip hop on the seafront to swing dancing on the sunset strip and a retro 80s/90s beach party on the bay — the whole town turns into one open-air venue.

Midnight fireworks over the bay: The grand finale — fireworks launched over San Antonio bay, illuminating the entire waterfront. Not quite as elaborate as the August 8 Ibiza Town display, but the intimate bay setting creates a spectacular wrap-around visual. All free. 🎆

📅 When: Several days around August 24, 2026 (the town hall publishes the exact programme close to the date — typically 3–5 days of events)

📍 Where: San Antonio — waterfront, bay, town centre

🎵 Type: Traditional / Cultural / Fireworks / Street Festival

🎟️ Tickets: FREE — all events open to the public

📌 Status: ✅ Confirmed — HIGH (annual tradition; check visit.santantoni.net for the 2026 programme)

💡 Tip: If you’re staying at Cisne by Nest in San Antonio, you’re literally in the middle of the fiesta. The tomato battle happens in the town centre — join in or spectate from a safe (clean) distance. The midnight fireworks are best viewed from the harbour wall or the sunset strip.

🏖️ Free & Local — August Around Our Two Bases

Not everything worth doing in August costs €60 at the door. Both our neighbourhoods have a free-and-local calendar that most visitors completely miss:

San Antonio — around Cisne by Nest

The Sant Bartomeu fiestas (~Aug 24) turn the whole town into a free festival. The sunset strip — Café del Mar, Café Mambo — runs free outdoor DJ sessions most evenings, no ticket needed to stand on the rocks with the crowd. And on August 12, S’Arenal beach and the strip become one of Europe’s best free grandstands for the eclipsed sunset. All within a 5–10 minute walk of the hostel.

Es Canar & Santa Eulària — around Flamingo by Nest

Every Wednesday, the Hippy Market Punta Arabí — Ibiza’s original hippy market, running since 1973 — sets up basically on your doorstep in Es Canar (roughly 10:00–18:00, free entry). On Saturdays, the famous Las Dalias market in Sant Carles is a short hop away, and through summer Las Dalias also runs an evening night market — check lasdalias.es for days and hours. The village of Jesús, in the same municipality, runs its summer fiesta programme with free concerts and folk dancing — dates on santaeulariadesriu.com. And for the August 8 fireworks, regular buses connect Santa Eulària with Ibiza Town — go early, come back late. 🌺

🛏️ Where to Stay in Ibiza in August

Critical: August is the most expensive month. Accommodation books out early, especially the week of August 8–15 (Festes de la Terra fireworks + the sunset eclipse in the same week). If you haven’t booked yet, do it today — not tomorrow, today. And of course Nest is comign in your help here, cause our rates are lower then others, check them out!

San Antonio — your party-and-culture base

Cisne by Nest in San Antonio is the smartest budget-friendly choice in August. Here’s why: you’re walking distance from Es Paradis and Eden (entry from around €20, beers around €7 — roughly half what you’ll pay in Playa d’en Bossa), O Beach pool club, and the Café del Mar sunset strip. San Antonio is the departure point for free shuttle buses to [UNVRS] and Amnesia. During the Sant Bartomeu fiestas (~Aug 24) you’re literally in the middle of the action. And on August 12, the west-facing bay outside your door is ground zero for the eclipsed sunset. 🌘

Budget tip for August: mix Es Paradis and Eden nights (from ~€20 entry) with one or two splurge events (Calvin Harris, elrow, Boris Brejcha) and free events (Festes de la Terra fireworks, Sant Bartomeu, Pikes guest list, eclipse viewing). You don’t need to spend €100+ every night to have a legendary August. 💶

Cisne by Nest (San Antonio)
Cisne by Nest (San Antonio)

East coast — the recovery base you’ll need

Flamingo by Nest in Es Canar is your antidote to August’s relentless energy. 300m from the beach, private rooms with AC, pool — the three things your body craves after a 4am finish at Amnesia. The Punta Arabí hippy market happens on your doorstep every Wednesday, the famous Las Dalias Saturday market is a short hop away, and regular buses connect Santa Eulària with Ibiza Town for the Festes de la Terra events and the August 8 fireworks. In August, having a quiet base to retreat to isn’t a luxury — it’s a survival strategy. 🏖️

💡 Survival Guide for August in Ibiza

The big week (Aug 8–15): Festes de la Terra fireworks on the 8th, the sunset eclipse on the 12th, Boris Brejcha the same night — back-to-back. This is the island’s busiest stretch of the summer. Book accommodation months ahead and plan transport in advance — taxis will be scarce.

Pace yourself — seriously. August is 31 days of temptation. Going out every night is a recipe for burnout, illness, or both. Plan maximum 3 club nights per week. Use the other nights for cultural events (free), beach recovery, or exploring the island by day. The veteran move is: big club Friday → cultural event/beach Saturday → Solomun or Carl Cox Sunday → 2 days off → repeat.

Hydration is survival. August averages 28–33°C. Ushuaïa daytime events are 6 hours in direct sun. Water at clubs costs €10–€15, but dehydration lands people in hospital every year. Drink a litre before you go out. Carry water when walking. This isn’t optional — it’s medical advice.

Budget breakdown for a week in August: Hostel dorm ~€35–€55/night (€245–€385/week). 3 club nights at ~€70 average entry = ~€210. Drinks budget: ~€50/night × 3 = ~€150. Food: ~€15–€25/day × 7 = ~€105–€175. Transport: ~€50–€80/week. Total realistic budget: ~€760–€1,000 per week. Swap one superclub for Es Paradis or Eden (from ~€20 entry) and lean on free events (fireworks, eclipse, Sant Bartomeu) and it drops to €600–€800.

Ticket strategy: Buy online in advance — door prices are €10–€20 more, and popular nights (Calvin Harris, elrow, the Boris Brejcha RESISTANCE dates) genuinely sell out in August. Ushuaïa and Hï both offer 5-drink packages for €99.99 that save ~€30 vs. buying individually. Key platforms: Tickets Ibiza, Club Tickets, Ibiza Spotlight, and official venue websites.

Eclipse glasses: Order ISO 12312-2 certified eclipse glasses before you travel. They will sell out on the island. Regular sunglasses do NOT protect your eyes — and because Ibiza gets a partial eclipse (no totality), there is no safe naked-eye moment at any point. Glasses on for the whole show. 🕶️

Frequently Asked Questions ❓

Can you see the solar eclipse from Ibiza on August 12, 2026?

Yes — but as a deep partial eclipse, not a total one. On August 12, 2026 the path of totality crosses Iceland and northern mainland Spain, and Ibiza sits just outside it. From the island, the moon covers roughly 96% of the sun, with maximum eclipse around 20:33 local time and the sun setting still eclipsed just before 21:00. In practice, the sunset itself is the eclipse — a crescent sun sinking into the sea. West-facing spots like San Antonio bay and S’Arenal beach are ideal viewpoints. ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses are required the entire time, since a partial eclipse is never safe to view with the naked eye.

When are the Festes de la Terra fireworks in Ibiza 2026?

The main Festes de la Terra fireworks display (Castell de Focs) takes place at midnight on the night of August 8, 2026, launched from the harbour in Ibiza Town. This is the Sant Ciriac celebration and features a professionally choreographed fireworks show lasting 20–30 minutes that illuminates the port, the walls of Dalt Vila, and the waterfront. It’s free and open to everyone. The best viewing spots are along the harbour wall near Pacha, from rooftop bars in La Marina, or from boats in the harbour. Arrive by 10pm for a good position.

What are the Fiestas de Sant Bartomeu in San Antonio?

The Fiestas de Sant Bartomeu are San Antonio’s patron saint celebrations, taking place over several days around August 24. Recent editions have featured a Carthaginians vs Romans reenactment that ends in a tomato fight, free hip hop and swing concerts on the waterfront, a retro 80s/90s beach party, and midnight fireworks over San Antonio bay. All events are free, and the town hall publishes the exact 2026 programme close to the date. If you’re staying in San Antonio, you’re in the heart of the celebrations.

Which clubs are open in Ibiza in August 2026?

Every major club is open and running at full capacity in August 2026. The main venues are: Ushuaïa (open-air, 5pm–11pm), Hï Ibiza (indoor, 11:30pm–6am), [UNVRS] (indoor mega-club, 11pm–6am), Pacha (indoor, midnight–7am), Amnesia (indoor, midnight–6am), DC-10 (hangar + garden, 4pm–6am), Club Chinois (indoor, midnight–6:30am), Eden (indoor, midnight–6am), Es Paradis (indoor, midnight–6:30am), and Pikes (boutique outdoor, 8pm–4am, free guest list). There are also daytime venues including O Beach, Blue Marlin, and Destino Five. Every single night has 4–6 competing options.

How much does a week in Ibiza cost in August 2026?

A realistic budget for one week in Ibiza in August 2026 is approximately €760–€1,000. This breaks down to: hostel accommodation €35–€55 per night (€245–€385 per week), 3 club nights at approximately €70 average entry (€210), drinks at clubs approximately €50 per night (€150 for 3 nights), daily food €15–€25 per day (€105–€175), and transport €50–€80 per week. Budget-conscious travellers can reduce this by choosing San Antonio venues like Es Paradis or Eden (entry from around €20) and taking advantage of free events like the Festes de la Terra fireworks, the sunset eclipse, the Sant Bartomeu fiestas, and Pikes guest-list parties.

What are the most affordable clubs in Ibiza in August?

The most affordable superclub experiences in Ibiza in August are Es Paradis and Eden in San Antonio. Both typically offer entry from around €20 with beers around €7 — roughly half the prices at Playa d’en Bossa venues. Pikes in the San Antonio hills is completely free via guest list (sign up around two weeks ahead at pikesibiza.com), though the Saturday party has a 27+ age policy. Among the larger venues, Chinois and Amnesia are generally more budget-friendly than Ushuaïa and Hï, with entry from around €30–€40. Free cultural events — the Festes de la Terra fireworks, the sunset eclipse, and Sant Bartomeu — round out an affordable August.

What free events are there in Ibiza in August 2026?

August 2026 has several exceptional free events. The Festes de la Terra celebrations (late July through mid-August) feature free concerts, dancing, and the spectacular midnight fireworks over Ibiza harbour on the night of August 8. The partial solar eclipse at sunset on August 12 is free to watch from any west-facing beach — San Antonio bay is one of the best spots in Europe for it. The Fiestas de Sant Bartomeu in San Antonio (~August 24) include a free Carthaginians vs Romans reenactment with tomato battle, waterfront concerts, and midnight fireworks over the bay. Pikes runs free guest-list parties throughout August. The sunset strip bars at Café del Mar and Café Mambo have free outdoor DJ sessions most evenings. The Punta Arabí Wednesday hippy market in Es Canar and the Las Dalias Saturday market are free to explore.
