The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival, one of the most important in the world, is wrapping up its highly anticipated final week with a packed schedule of activities for everyone. From March 5th to 9th, the capital of Tenerife turns into a vibrant stage for celebrations that mix tradition, music, and color in every corner.

Highlighted Events of the Final Week
On Wednesday, March 5th, the final stretch kicks off with the iconic Burial of the Sardine at 9:00 PM. It’s one of the most awaited and emotional rituals where we bid farewell to Madame Sardine with a funeral parade filled with heartbroken widows and quirky characters. After the fake tears, the party keeps rolling with a big dance featuring top-notch orchestras from 11:30 PM until the early hours of the morning.
On Thursday the 6th, traditional Canarian culture takes center stage with the Festival de Rondallas at 11:00 AM, where the island’s oldest music groups will delight you with their performances.
On Friday the 7th, it’s all about the little ones with the colorful Coso Infantil kicking off at 6:00 PM, where kids can show off their fantasies and costumes. As night falls, the city transforms with the famous Night Carnival, where thousands of costumed people hit the streets and plazas to party until dawn.
On Saturday the 8th, get ready for the blast of the Second Day Carnival! It’s a full day where music, dancing, and costumes take over the streets from morning till night. And for the night owls, there’s a new session of Carnival at Night for those who can keep going!
The closing party is on Sunday the 9th and it’s packed with activities! It kicks off with the Grand Antique Car Show at 10:00 AM, followed by a performance from the legendary Afilarmónica Ni fú – Ni fá at 11:00 AM. In the afternoon, the Senior Carnival pays tribute to our elders from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The day wraps up with the highly anticipated reveal of the Carnaval 2026 theme at 8:00 PM, followed by a dance in La Candelaria square and an awesome grand finale with a spectacular fireworks show at 10:00 PM.
