🛶 A double kayak route along the cliffs of Los Gigantes, with Teno Activo. You’ll leave the marina and paddle alongside a rock wall that drops vertically into the Atlantic from almost 500 meters. It’s a refuge for seabirds, away from the noise. No photo can capture it well: you gotta be there beneath it all.

Halfway through, you stop to swim in a cove and go snorkeling. 🐠 The water there has amazing visibility, and the seabed is volcanic: old wives, wrasses, salemas, trumpet fish, rays. The school provides the snorkeling gear.

No experience needed. The kayaks are self-draining, wide, and super stable, so flipping over is pretty hard. The guide will paddle along with you in their own kayak, and a support boat follows the whole route: if you want to head back at any time, you’ll be at the marina in two minutes. Just remember, you gotta know how to swim.

 The route kicks off from the Puerto Deportivo de Los Gigantes , in Santiago del Teide, on the southwest side of Tenerife. The meeting point is the Teno Activo shop, in front of Dock 6 , so make sure you’re there 15 minutes early . ⚠️ The port has paid parking (about 2€/h), and it fills up quickly from 11:00 in the summer. FAQ's

Do I need previous kayaking experience?

None at all. The kayaks are beginner-friendly, two-seaters, and super stable—you sit on top instead of inside. The guide will explain the basics before you head out and will be with you the whole way. The only must is that you know how to swim and are in good physical and mental shape.

How much does it cost and how do I book it?

For Nest guests, it’s €30 instead of the public rate of €36. You can book it at the reception of Arena Nest Hostel or chat with the manager. If you buy it on your own, you’ll pay the regular price. Kids under 8 can sit in the middle of the kayak between two adults and have a different rate, around €15.

What’s included in the price?

Self-draining kayak with a backrest, paddle, and life jacket; a guide in their own kayak; support boat throughout the route; snorkeling goggles; water, soft drink, or beer; a digital photo book; and accident and liability insurance.

Can we always do snorkeling?

The kayaking route usually goes ahead, but the snorkeling depends on the sea conditions and waves, which sometimes don’t cooperate. The guides will decide on the spot once you’re in the water.

What if the weather's bad?

If the activity is canceled due to weather forecasts, you’ll get a full refund or be offered another date or route. If you cancel more than 48 hours in advance, you’ll also get a full refund; but if it’s less than 24 hours, there’s no refund. On the day of the outing, there’s a 15-minute grace period, so don’t be late!

Where do we meet and where can I park?

At the Teno Activo shop, in front of Dock 6 at the Los Gigantes Marina, 15 minutes before the scheduled time. The marina has paid parking, about €2 per hour, and fills up by 11:00 in the summer. Give yourself plenty of time—it’s not easy to park there.
