Whale watching on a catamaran in Costa Adeje, South Tenerife

This unique experience allows visitors to discover the coastline from Costa Adeje to Los Gigantes and watch dolphins and pilot whales, a resident species of cetaceans who can be seen all year round in the marine area between Tenerife and the island of La Gomera.

The activity begins and ends at Puerto Colón (very close to Duque Nest Hostel), and not only does it include food and drinks, but it also provides a free pick-up service from different locations both in the North and in the South. Depending on how much time you wish to spend at sea, you can choose between the 3 hour and the 5 hour excursion.

A highlight of this tour is the snorkeling stop near the beach of Masca, among the famous "Acantilados de Los Gigantes", the jaw-dropping vertical cliffs of volcanic origins, reaching a height of 600 meters and considered some of the tallest in the world.

On the way back, the ecological catamaran cruises along the beaches of La Caleta, Playa de la Enramada, Playa del Veril, Playa del Duque, Playa Fañabé, Playa Torviscas and Playa la Pinta, giving the chance to take amazing pictures of the diverse landscape.

Among the tour operators offering boat trips for whale watching in Tenerife, Maxicat is one of the best known and rated, with affordable prices and the quietness of sailing compared to speedboats. Are you ready to embark on this expedition?
