The popular Tablas de San Andrés is a tradition celebrated in the last days of November, officially on the 29th, the eve of Saint Andrew’s Day. The festival involves sliding down on wooden boards or planks through the steep streets of the municipality.
The event kicks off on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 in the town of Icod de Los Vinos Tenerife, located in the north of Tenerife.
The main party streets will be closed to traffic on the following days and times:
November 28th starting at 5:00 PM until 2:30 AM
November 29th all day until 2:30 AM
November 30th all day until 2:00 AM
The spectacular party takes place in the streets of Plano, San Antonio, and Hércules, with the steep streets of Icod also being a charming spot to connect with this tradition. The San Andrés boards in Tenerife are always being promoted; it’s a magnificent visual spectacle that shapes the identity of the town.
