The beach of El Bollullo is one of the most beautiful and natural beaches of Tenerife. It is located in the area of El Rincón, in the municipality of La Orotava/Puerto de la Cruz, and has a surface of black arena of volcanic origin. It is an ideal beach to disconnect from the noise of the city and enjoy nature.
How to get to Bollullo beach?
The beach of El Bollullo is located just four kilometers east of Puerto de la Cruz, one of the main tourist centers in the north of Tenerife. To reach this hidden cove, it is possible to take a footpath that starts from the Puerto de la Cruz, or arrive by car.
Walk from Puerto de la Cruz on a trail for about 45 minutes.
From the main road, you must navigate a series of narrow, winding lanes leading to the beach. These roads can be difficult to navigate, as they are only suitable for one car at a time. However, the scenery along the way is spectacular, with banana plantations and captivating cliffs providing a unique driving experience.
At the end of the street you will find the restaurant El Bollullo, where you can park your car for 3 euros. If you want to take a break for a bite to eat or have a drink, this restaurant offers a great view of the sea and a pleasant atmosphere.
Getting off at El Bollullo Beach
From the restaurant El Bollullo (on the Rincón road) and the parking lot, a path leads to the beach of El Bollullo. Along the way there are some stairs, but the walk is quite easy and takes about 10 minutes.
What to expect at El Bollullo beach
Once you arrive at El Bollullo, take a few minutes to admire the beauty of this black beach, surrounded by high cliffs and with a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The arena is very fine and pleasant to the touch, while the water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming.
On the beach there are several services such as litter garbage cans, cleaning, telephone, bar and restaurant, sun loungers and umbrellas for rent. There is no access for people with disabilities.
However, it is important to pay attention to the currents and waves, which can sometimes be quite strong and dangerous. It is recommended not to go too far from the coast.

Important: this path is not suitable for children.
In 15 minutes you reach the Playa del Pozo and it is very dangerous when the sea is rough, crossing this beach you reach in a few minutes the next beach of Los Patos, much more frequented by campers and nudists. It is not recommended to continue to the next beach Ancon because the route is very dangerous.
