Cathedral of Our Lady of Remedies – La Laguna San Cristobal – Tenerife

The Cathedral of La Laguna is a historic monument located in Santa Cruz-La Laguna, built thanks to Alonso Fernández de Lugo’s vision.
The Cathedral was built in 1515 and later expanded and restored, reopening for worship in 2014.

Also known as the Catedral de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, it’s one of the most iconic spots in the city. This stunning cathedral, built in the 16th and 17th centuries, showcases impressive architecture with Gothic and Neoclassical influences. Inside, you can admire beautiful religious artworks and soak up a peaceful, spiritual vibe.

Inside this church, you’ll find a bunch of important artworks and the relics of the saint martyrs Aurelio of Córdoba, Faustino, Venusto, and Amado of Nusco, but especially the relics of Pedro de San José de Bethencourt and José de Anchieta.
The biggest treasure of the cathedral is the marble pulpit from Genoa by Pasquale Bocciardo.
