Not a partial, not &#8220;almost&#8221; \u2014 the whole island sits inside the path of totality, and for about a minute the corona will hang over the sea while the horizon glows in every direction at once.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;re not letting that happen alone in a car park. We walk out of the hostel door and we&#8217;re there. While everyone else is parked up on a verge working out how far they still have to go, we&#8217;ll already have a spot.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where we&#8217;re going<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Balearic Government has designated <strong>six official observation zones in Ibiza<\/strong>, picked for clear sightlines, access and emergency cover. Wear them from 19:38 right up to the moment totality starts, and put them straight back on the second the diamond ring reappears at 20:34.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sunglasses don&#8217;t work. Neither do stacked sunglasses, phone screens, smoked glass or CDs. Retinal burns don&#8217;t hurt while they&#8217;re happening, which is exactly what makes them dangerous.
